Introduction: What is a Marketing Funnel?  In the world of marketing, a marketing funnel is one of the basics you will likely hear about from the beginning. A marketing funnel, often displayed as an infographic, represents the stages of the typical optimal customer experience. The sections of a marketing funnel can become a little complex, depending on the model, but the most basic AIDA model includes the four stages of awareness, interest, desire, and action.  Regardless of which model you choose, the funnel is important for marketing professionals as it helps them create effective goals within their marketing strategies, understand each customer group better, and better tailor their efforts towards each stage of the customer experience. Looking at the History of Change I believe that one of the best ways we as humans learn is through experiences, our own, but also that of others. When we hear others' stories and encounters with things and situations we are not so familiar with, we learn from their point of view and the way that they handle things.   Don't be Afraid of Artificial Intelligence Within the first week or two of class this semester, my computer art professor played a video for us to watch on the screen at the front of the room.  It was a news report from a couple of years ago, and you may already be familiar with it. Following the 2022 Colorado State Fair's fine arts contest, artists cried out in protest that the winning piece was invalid as it had been created using artificial intelligence tools. Meanwhile, the artist of the winning piece himself filed a lawsuit when he was refused the rights to copyright and protect his work. While it was certainly a much larger controversy then, the debate over what role AI can be allowed to play in the creative world continues today.  I personally hadn't had much experience with artificial intelligence prior to this semester, particularly with creative AI tools such as Midjourney or Adobe Firefly . In today's age of constant connection and quick access to stories, news and people via technology, newsjacking is one of the most powerful marketing tools there is.  As a graphic design student, I always keep an eye out to learn the best or newest creative techniques companies use to gain a broader awareness and customer base. While perusing Chapter 9 of The New Rules of Marketing and PR by David Meerman Scott, a funny little word caught my eye; newsjacking. You may have heard the term before, and although it almost sounds like the fancy title of an exciting new video game or science fiction novel, it is indeed a phenomenon any business professional hopes to create.
