MKTG Week 1: Introducing Myself

Introducing Myself

Hello all!

My name is Marielle Vestuto-Langford, and I am a junior at Benedictine University. I am double majoring in Graphic Arts and Design as well as Business. Since I am still taking my business core classes, I have a bit of time to decide which specific area I would like to focus on. However, I am considering either Marketing, Management and Organizational Behavior, or a broader scope with Business Administration.

As I have always had a passion for the world of creativity, I chose Business as my second major because I don't just want to be a person with big ideas, I want to be a person who puts those ideas into reality. I think having a strong knowledge of the business field will help me to achieve any path I undertake. This is my first marketing class, and I am excited to learn more about the concepts! Particularly in the field of design, when working in branding or UI/UX design for example, marketing principles are crucial.

A few extracurricular activities I am involved in this semester are that I am part of the team for the annual Ben Arts Review journal, a writer for The Candor news, and I help run Poets in Person (we type poems for others in the campus community on typewriters! By the way, if you're interested, feel free to email me!). I also sing in the concert choir and play percussion for the concert band.

Coincidentally, a potential project that has been on my mind recently is starting my own personal blog. I am glad for this little push this class has given me to get started and am excited to create more content in the coming weeks!

Until next time,

Marielle
